Close finish at Lions Quiz
Competition was close at the annual Lowestoft Lions Quiz with entrants searching their brains for the answers in six rounds of questions.
The annual quiz and fish & chips evening was held at the Masonic Hall and attracted a full-house of 18 teams made up of between four and six quizzers each – to compete for the shield and title of ‘Quiz Champions’.
A local team named ‘’Cookie Jar’ eventually beat runners-up ‘Team North and South’ by one point to win the trophy – with the third placed team just two points further behind.
The joint quiz masters for the evening were Michael Cook and Derek Howe, who read out the six sets of varied yet challenging questions ranging from Geography, The Arts, Around the ‘Toft’, Sport, It’s an ‘ology’ and General Knowledge. There was also a tabletop picture quiz.
The Lions wish to thank all who came along to take part in the quiz, as well as caterer Robert Parker and his team of helpers for a very enjoyable meal. The evening raised just over £300 for the Lions charity account.
